No ocean or air freight
Domestic leg only, so the product is not exposed to container rates or airfreight surcharges.
About us
Founded in 2019, we make drinking straws and beverage stirrers in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, for distributors, foodservice operators and private label programs across the country.

Manufacturing
Production runs in the United States at 1212 Scott Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Domestic manufacturing keeps specifications, quality checks and lead times in our hands rather than in a container somewhere at sea.
Ownership
Green Smart Products is a minority and women owned business, manufacturing in the United States.
Our origin
Green Smart Products was the first manufacturer of compostable drinking straws and stirrers in the United States. The company delivered proof-of-concept products converted from batch tests of polymers then in development at what went on to become a publicly traded polymer manufacturer, later acquired by a major beverage company.
Domestic supply chain
Manufacturing in the United States changes the route to US customers. Product moves over a domestic leg only, without an ocean crossing, airfreight leg or customs clearance.
Domestic leg only, so the product is not exposed to container rates or airfreight surcharges.
A shorter domestic route means rising fuel costs move landed cost far less than an import chain does.
Domestic manufacturing removes tariffs from the cost structure.
Priced and paid in US dollars, with no foreign exchange fluctuation between order and delivery.
Faster speed to delivery than an overseas order with an ocean crossing and customs clearance.
Why it matters
Conventional single-use plastic straws are used for minutes and persist for far longer. Our plant-based lines are built to replace them without asking the drinker to accept a worse experience.
A true liquid barrier and familiar mouthfeel, so operators can switch without complaints from guests.
PLA is industrial compostable only. PHA is industrial compostable and additionally certified Home Compostable and Marine Biodegradable.
We state what each material is certified for, material by material — including that our PP line is recyclable, not compostable.
